Manager, Risk and Safety Program (Req. #2012-027)

Position is exempt.  Monday to Friday, 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week.  Extended hours required as needed, depending on deadlines and workload.  Normally off on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays, but always on call through pager if risk management or safety matters should arise.

The Manager, Risk & Safety Program is responsible to the Vice President & Chief Financial Officer (VP/CFO) for coordinating the Health System's risk management and insurance activities and programs, and implementing, directing and monitoring the Safety Management Program for all departments/services in compliance with applicable Health System policies and procedures, JCAHO standards, and regulations of Federal, State, and City agencies that have jurisdiction over safety activities. 

Bachelors Degree from an accredited four-year college or university.  Graduate degree in Hospital Administration, Business Administration, or Public Health in related health field preferred.  Minimum of three (3) years of healthcare administration and/or risk management/safety work experience in a hospital or other healthcare institution if possessing a graduate degree, or minimum of five (5) years of healthcare administration and/or risk management/safety work experience in a hospital or health care institution if only a graduate of a four-year college or university.  Direct experience in risk management/safety program administration required.  Experience / licensure as a Registered Nurse preferred.  Evidence of continuing education highly desirable.  Affiliation with professional association(s) desirable.
