| Description of Position |
The Quality Management Specialist serves a key resource and provides assistance in the implementation of Performance Improvement Plans. The Quality Management Coordinator manages publicly reported and other significant quality measures and performance improvement activities in collaboration with administrative, clinical and physician leadership. Performs review of medical records for core measures and other clinical indicators based on established definitions and provides real-time feedback to clinical staff and physicians to ensure best practice and quality patient care. Additionally, this position abstracts records based on established indicators of the medical staff for peer review for assigned populations; facilitates the peer review process and provides pertinent data for the meetings and provides support for medical staff reappointment. Also, serves as a consultant in the interpretation and/or clarification of standards and regulations relative to the delivery of care. Coordinates the monitoring of the MedicalCenter’s compliance to the standards and guidelines of the Joint Commission.

| Qualifications and Requirements |
Graduate of an accredited university or college; and current RN licensure in the State of Hawaii required. Master’s degree in nursing or healthcare-related field preferred. Minimum three (3) years work experience in an acute-care medical facility preferred. Minimum two (2) years of Performance Improvement experience preferred; or any combination of education and experience which would provide the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities to meet the minimum qualifications to perform the essential functions of this position.
