Kuakini Health System (Kuakini) has promoted Cheryl Tanaka to Manager of Care Management and Medical Social Work and Frank Ward to Manager of Education Services.
In her new role, Cheryl oversees the departments that ensure Kuakini’s patients receive quality and appropriate care as well as have a thorough discharge plan. As Education Services Manager, Frank oversees Kuakini’s Medical Library and staff education programs.
Cheryl, a University of Hawaii graduate, has been a member of the Kuakini Health Care Team for more than 30 years. During her tenure, she served as a staff nurse, head nurse and nursing supervisor before joining the Care Management office six years ago as a care management coordinator. She has been an active volunteer at Kuakini’s community events and was honored as Employee of the Month in January 2010.
Frank first joined the Kuakini Health Care Team as a Patient Care Coordinator in 2003 and later left to pursue other endeavors. He returned to Kuakini in 2006 as a casual part-time Inhouse Supervisor. Prior to accepting his new post, Frank was also an Associate Professor of Nursing at Hawaii Pacific University.
