Kuakini Geriatric Care, Inc. Welcomes Linda Kim

Linda Kim has joined Kuakini Geriatric Care, Inc. as Director of Nursing for Long Term Care. She now manages Kuakini Geriatric Care Inc.ís 187-bed Intermediate Care and Skilled Nursing facilities.
Linda has an extensive background in health care, especially related to the care of vulnerable populations (those with mental illness and the elderly). She is an Assistant Professor of Nursing at Hawaii Pacific University (HPU), where she teaches gerontology, therapeutic communication, nursing concepts and processes clinical, and community health clinical courses. She also provides education for Adult Residential Care Home (ARCH) and Adult Foster Family Caregivers and volunteers as an instructor with Nurse Advocacy and Mentoring, Inc. (NAMI), a non-profit organization that provides education to nurses trained in other countries who are studying to take the NCLEX-RN exam.
Linda received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from the University of Hawaii and her Master of Science in Nursing degree from HPU. She is also an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse, a Clinical Nurse Specialist in community health and a Certified Nurse Educator. She was certified in psychiatry and mental health for 10 years by the American Nurses Credentialing Center and as been a Certified Case Manager.
Kuakini Geriatric Care, Inc., a subsidiary of Kuakini Health System, is a nonprofit organization that provides a range of programs and services for older adults in need of long-term care and geriatric related health care services. The subsidiary operates a nursing home facility (187 licensed beds), a residential care home (34 licensed beds) and an adult day services program (located at two community sites).
