Kuakini Appoints Two Patient Care Coordinators

Kuakini Medical Center (Kuakini) has appointed Wayne Becker as Patient Care Coordinator (PCC) of Emergency Services and Eric Miura as PCC of the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), Critical Care Unit
(CCU) and Critical Care Float Pool (CCFP).
In his new role, Wayne Becker will manage the Emergency Department’s operations and initiatives, which includes the Emergency Department Patients Safety Initiative, a nationwide collaboration of Emergency Departments focused on improving patient fl ow. Wayne, a registered nurse, joined the Kuakini Health Care Team in 2007 as an Assistant PCC for the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) and Acute Hemodialysis. He was promoted to PCC of the two departments in December 2008. Wayne’s more than 20 years of health care experience includes work as an Emergency Medical Technician/Paramedic and a critical care nurse.
Before his new appointment, Registered Nurse Eric Miura served as the assistant PCC of ICU, CCU and CCFP since November 2010. He joined the Kuakini Health Care Team in 2002 as a Licensed Practical Nurse. Eric
brings more than 20 years of health care experience to his position as PCC.
Kuakini is a nonprofi t organization that operates an eleemosynary acute care hospital accredited by the Joint Commission. It is also a tertiary teaching hospital licensed for 212 acute medical/surgical beds and 24 critical care beds.
