Quality and Patient Outcomes

Kuakini Medical Center is required to maintain a system of review to determine the proper use of hospital services and programs as mandated by the Federal and State government, health insurance plans and The Joint Commission.

Your hospital stay and care will be reviewed under this system by Kuakini's Quality and Patient Outcomes Department. This department will determine when you no longer need acute hospital services and ensures that the care you receive meets quality standards. The Medical Social Work and Care Management staff will provide the necessary discharge planning support. The review system is an important part of Kuakini's effort to provide quality care and to contain health care costs.
