Visiting Hours
Kuakini understands the importance of support for patients from their family members and friends. We encourage their involvement and ask for their cooperation and understanding in following these guidelines during visiting hours:
Depending on the condition of the patient, as determined by the nursing staff, children (under ten years of age) may be allowed to visit. Children must be supervised by a responsible person. Children will not be allowed to remain on the patient floor if they are disruptive.
Visitors may be asked to leave the room when treatments are being done for patients.
Visiting hours for specific patient areas are as follows:

• Patients in semi-private rooms may receive phone calls from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. Patients in private rooms may receive phone calls anytime.
Flowers are not allowed in the critical care patient rooms (ICU and CCU) in order to ensure comfort to all patients and to lessen exposure to bacteria. No calls will be connected to ICU and CCU patient rooms. If requested, callers will be connected to a nurse in the nurses station.

Dining Facility
Visitors may use the Dining Room located on the first floor of the Hale Pulama Mau building. The hours of operation are from 5:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday and 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. on weekends and holidays.
Vending Machines
Vending machines are available on the ground floor of the Hale Kuakini Building (Medical Center) adjacent to the lobby and in the Dining Room Courtyard on the first floor of the Hale Pulama Mau building.

Gift Shop
The Gift Shop is located in the Hale Kuakini building's ground floor lobby opposite the Information Desk and is operated by the Kuakini Medical Center Auxiliary. Gift Shop hours are from 9:30 a.m. to 3:45 p.m., Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., on Saturdays. The Gift Shop is closed on Sundays.
A full range of personal items such as shaving supplies, deodorants and hair grooming aids are available as well as candies, magazines and a wide variety of small gift items.

Lost and Found
Inquiries regarding items that are lost or found on Kuakini's premises may be directed to the Patient Relations Representative at 547-9791. Items unclaimed after 30 days will be disposed of in accordance with Kuakini policy. After business hours, any items found may be turned into any Kuakini employee for handling.
