Harry & Jeanette Weinberg Emergency Services
Kuakini’s Harry & Jeanette Weinberg Emergency Services facility opened on January 10, 2007.
The ER has a 16-patient capacity provided by 10 private treatment rooms and three semi-private treatment rooms; dedicated triage, trauma and isolation rooms; and separate elevator access to other patient floors. The exterior design includes a covered receiving area for patients transported by ambulance and private vehicles, and two new external entrances for rapid patient access.
The ER construction would not have been possible without substantial financial support from the community. Individuals and groups contributed toward the $6.75 million cost for the project, including a $1 million donation from the Harry & Jeanette Weinberg Foundation Inc.
