Cardiovascular Services
Kuakini Medical Center, Third Floor 

Kuakini's Acute Cardiovascular Services include open heart services, a cardiac catheterization laboratory, a coronary care unit and a progressive care unit.

The Cardiac Care Unit and the Intensive Care Unit are Critical Care Units, areas where highly skilled professional nursing care is provided. In these units, critically ill patients are under constant observation by nurses using specialized equipment.

The Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory provides services to inpatients and outpatients for the diagnosis and treatment of diseases. It utilizes the latest in computerized radiologic imaging technology including filmless digital imaging, electrophysiologic hemodynamic monitoring and cardiovascular interventional devices. Specially trained nurses and radiologic technologists assist the cardiologists in all aspects of the procedures.

The Operating Room, on the second floor of the Medical Center, includes a dedicated open heart suite with the latest equipment and highly trained professionals who provide routine and emergency care any time of the day or night.
