News: Kuakini Home Celebrates 75th Annivesary
Geriatric Care Services are housed in the Hale Pulama Mau building, the first and most comprehensive facility for older adults in the State of Hawaii. Hale Pulama Mau means "House of Cherishing Care." More than 300 persons are cared for in this facility.
Kuakini provides comprehensive long term care for older adults through a progressive health care system in which an appropriate level of care is matched with the individual's medical and nursing needs.
Geriatric Care Services include:
• A 150-bed Intermediate Care Facility which provides health-related care and services;
• A 40-bed Skilled Nursing Facility which provides continuous professional nursing services and/or rehabilitative services;
• A 34-bed older adult residential care home (Kuakini Home) which provides residential care and personal care services;
• A 60-participant Adult Day Care Program in the Honpa Hongwanji on the Pali Highway; and a 42-participant Adult Day Care Program in Aiea which provides therapeutic recreational activities and care for elderly persons during the day.
Kuakini's Adult Day Care - Aiea Satellite is located at 98-939 Moanalua Road on the campus of St. Timothy's Episcopal Church (Click here for map). The Adult Day Care - Pali Satellite is located at 1727 Pali Highway on the ground floor of the Honpa Hongwanji Betsuin Temple Annex (Click here for map).
