| Description of Position |
Responsible for the planning, organizing, staffing, directing and controlling of all inpatient nursing units and nursing support services of IV Therapy, Chemotherapy Service, Nursing Supervisor, staffing and nursing float pools. The Managing Director also supervises the Nursing Resource Coordinator and the Secretary and Clerk for Nursing Services. In addition, the Managing Director is accountable and responsible for all professional and administrative activities for the Medical Center’s Nursing Services. The Managing Director oversees operational activities for inpatient nursing units in accordance with established standards, policies, procedures, legal, contractual, Joint Commission of Accreditation of Health Care Organizations (JCAHO), corporate and regulatory requirements. Serve as the Chair of the Nursing Executive Council.

| Qualifications and Requirements |
Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from an accredited school of nursing with current Registered Nurse license in the State of Hawaii required. Minimum of five (5) year clinical experience or knowledge base in nursing area of responsibility required. Minimum of three (3) years in nursing management required. A total of eight (8) years nursing management experience may be substituted for Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing and the three (3) year nursing management requirement. Basic Life Support (BLS), level C certification required, with retraining once every two years.
