Kuakini employees had a lot of fun and camaraderie during the 2014 Kuakini Health Care Team Celebration in July. The theme was “Red, White and Kuakini Blue” in commemoration of Independence Day.
During the celebration day on July 2, employees were treated to a tasty lunch “hot off the grill” and fresh popcorn specially prepared by the Kuakini Administrative Team. A shave ice station outside the auditorium was also a hit. The Kuakini Medical Center’s Medical Staff generously provided the prizes for the Lucky Name Drawing. The prizes were gift cards from locally owned businesses such as Foodland, City Mill, Zippy’s and Kaka’ako Kitchen in support for the Hawaii business community. One hundred employees were the lucky recipients of the gift cards.
Other activities included games that tested employees’ balance, speed and cooperation; sign-up for the HMSA Fitbit Challenge; and the announcement of the team spirit Shoebox Float Contest winners. Employees also received a special Kuakini towel in appreciation of their hard work and dedication which reflected the core values of Kuakini.
The Health Care Team celebrations is one of three special employee-related activities that usually takes place during the summer. The other activities are the Kuakini Anniversary Ohana Reunion and the Employee Service Awards.
