Assistant Patient Care Coordinator - Critical Care
Regular Full-Time (Req# 2014-182). Primarily day shift, with 24-hr on-call status. May be required to work beyond regular work hours. Must be physically able to respond to emergencies at the Medical Center.
Kuakini Medical Center
Assists the Patient Care Coordinator (PCC) in coordinating the operational activities of assigned patient care units in accordance with established Kuakini Health System policies, Kuakini Medical Center nursing standards/policies and procedures, Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare organization (JCAHO) standards, and regulatory requirements. Facilitates cooperative and collaborative relationships between nursing administration and staff, and has twenty-four (24) hour accountability for compliance to nursing care standards in the planning, organizing, directing and implementing of nursing care, quality and standards, and patient safety initiatives. Works collaboratively with the Patient Care Coordinator (PCC) and mangers of all departments and Kuakini Medical Center Medical Staff to achieve and maintain quality patient care in a cost-effective manner and promotes teamwork among all members of the healthcare team. Reports directly to the PCC of the assigned patient care unit and assumes the PCC responsibilities in the absence of the PCC.
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with current Registered Nurse licensure in the State of Hawaii required. Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing preferred. Minimum of 3 years experience in an acute medical/surgical nursing required. Supervisory/management experience preferred; or any combination of education and experience which would provide the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities to meet the minimum qualifications to perform the essential functions of this position. Healthcare Provider certification required with retraining once every two years. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification desired.
